Karma

Last Friday when we got hit with the ton of snow I was in the sullivan's parking lot and since the Wal-mart building is empty they haven't been plowing it, as I'm leaving I see a guy pull in to the parking lot and start doing donuts and what not where it hasn't been plowed and I'm thinking to myself you're an idiot! So I'm waiting for the light to change and he pulls up behind me, well when the light changes I realize I'm stuck so the idiot who was just doing donuts goes around me turns his head to look at me and s laughing at me! What an A$$! Well I get myself out and today I'm back in the same parking lot, as I'm pulling in I see someone with a shovel trying to get themselves out....IT'S THE SAME GUY!! It couldn't of happened to a better person! I thought if he was still there when I left I would roll down my window and start laughing hysterically, but unfortunately he wasn't there :( But it did make my day!!!

So Close, yet so far

So to graduate from MCC with honor's you have to have a 3.5 GPA, before the semester ended I had a 3.44 GPA and I knew I was getting an A in my class and I just needed it to boost my average .06, I thought it would happen.....have you ever been so close to something yet so far? I graduated with a 3.47 .03stupid little points away from graduating with honors. It doesn't matter that for the last 2 semester's I've had a 4.0 and the semster before that a 3.5 I'm done venting now ;)

P.S. (to my last blog)

If anyone has any suggestions how to do my hair I'd greatly appreciate it! I'm getting it done that morning (my present to myself) but that stupid cap limits what I can do...HELP!

Graduation

Graduation is only a day and a half away! I'm excited and nervous for some reason. I'm still upset with the fact that I have class 5 days AFTER graduation, but I'll get over it eventually. I now know 2 people graduating with me, a girl from my human relationships class who talks to much and a brother of one of my coworkers...yay! lol Graduation just feels weird when you don't know anyone. High school I was lucky enough that my best friend and I have last names that both start with L so we got to sit right next to each other, but now I don't know anyone. I don't even know what they do at the graduation ceremony, in high school I had gone to graduations the years before mine so I knew what to expect. Oh well it'll be like that what do I do now feeling after high school, just at my graduation.

3 More Day...

Until Black Friday! The one day a year I will get up at 4am to be at the stores by 5 to stand in line for hours on end with a smile on my face. Call me crazy, but this is one of my favorite days of the year! I can't wait! I still don't know what to get everyone, but I'll be shopping!

Costume Contest

Yesterday my puppy was in a costume contest. She was the cutest little bumble bee, and she WON!! I wont tell you how many dogs were in the contest, but she wasn't the only one. Her's her picture...I'm so proud! :)

The had a couple games, one for dogs and one for humans. They tried to get the dogs to bob for hot dogs instead of bobing for apples, but the hot dogs didn't float so they tried dog treats, which floated, but Candy wouldn't have anything to do with it, I had to push her towards the bucket. They also had a game to see who could draw the best picture of their dog in 60 seconds....lets just say mine started as a bear, then looked like a cat, and in the 60 seconds I wasn't even able to get legs on the thing. ;)

Portrait

Almost a year ago now some one I work with got a pencil portrait done of her two sons, and ever since then I've wanted to get one, first I though it would be nice to get portrait done of my mom's side of the family, for some reason the 34 of us never seem to get a group picture, but the rest of my family said no...stupid people. So I talked to my parents about getting one of just us and giving it to both sets of grandparents for Christmas, so thats what were doing....here's what it'll look like.
It started out as 3 different pictures and she put them together!

I shouldn't have gotten out of bed...

Have you ever had a day where you tell yourself you shouldn't have got out of bed? For me that was yesterday, I woke up an hour early and couldn't fall back asleep, well Dad and I went to breakfast as we do every Saturday, when we were done I headed back to my loaner car (I said it was a good day) and it doesn't start, I tried it twice before calling my dad to make sure he wouldn't leave. So he comes over and it still wont start. So dad takes me to work and I call the dealership (thank God my car was ready) and told them they needed to go pick up the car. When dad and I were in the car heading to work I said to him, it's going to be one of those days I should just go back home and crawl back into bed.

After work was was over I headed back home to get ready fora wedding in 2 hours mom was supposed to be stitching my bra into the dress I wanted to wear and she did....inside out. No big deal I just took it out and wore something else. A half hour before the wedding I text my boyfriend to remind him we only had a half an hour. He responds back I'm not going to make it to the wedding. It is now 30 min beforethe wedding and I just got stood up! I'm a girl, we don't go to weddings without a date. So I quick call up my best friend and she says she'll go to the reception with me, so I went to the ceremony with some people from work. After the ceremony we went out of a couple drink (of course I'm too young, but boy could I have used one)

Before the reception I had to go home and get the present, when I get home the mail is sitting on the table and I have something from the Illinois Tollway...strange, I don't have an I-pass (my parents do, but I don't) Guess what I got a ticket! Not one violation, not two, but five totaling $103.90! They caught my car going through the I-pass lane without and I-pass. The I-pass wasn't actually in my car, but it is registered, so that will be a fun day in court....

Like I said, it was one of those days where I should have never gotten out of bed. Today wasn't much better, but atleast my car started, I didn't get stodd up by my boyfriend of almost 4 years, and I didn't get a ticket in the mail (there was no mail today, but that's not the point lol)

Brewer's Game

A couple months ago at work we won a promotion so we got $500 to spend how we please, so we thought it would be fun to go to a baseball game. It was so much fun, 35 of us went all together and 28 of us took a school bus. Can you imagine 28 bankers drinking on a school bus? I can't either, but I swear it happened. Here are some pictures...

New Car

Yes you guessed it, I got a new car. No I didn't need one, but I just couldn't help myself I guess. I've like Mazda 6 cars for a while now, so Luke took me to the Mazda dealer in Crystal lake last week...they were completely out of them! The Mazda dealer didn't have any....then that weekend we go to the Ford in town and they've got one on display right out front. A 2008 Mazda 6 with a little over 14,000 miles on it, 6 CD changer, bose sound system, etc. So needless to say just one month after I pay off my Focus I sign myself up for 6 more years of debt. It only took me 1 year and 10 months to pay off the focus so hopefully I'll do the same on the Mazda. I really do miss my focus though :( It was a good car. Here's some pictures I found online of my new car, once I take my own I'll put those up.

Vacation

So at the end of the month I have a vacation coming up, I'm not going anywhere though, just taking a week off work. Well I decided I really didn't want to sit at home for a week, so I thought I'd ask some friends and see if they wanted to go to the dells for a couple days. And they did! lol We looked around and found all kinds of different resorts and hotels, but finally decided on the Wilderness resort. We would go up early Monday morning, and come home late Tuesday night, the room was $189, but if you divide that between 4 of us and it includes passes to their 3 indoor and 3 outdoor waterparks, plus they have golf, laser tag, arcades, you name it they've got it, it's a pretty good deal! Here's what our room looks like. I can't wait to go!

A Day in the City

Luke's birthday was last Monday and he always wants to go into Chicago, but we don't have anything to do their, we don't go clubbing, we don't drink, and I'm not about to drive all the way there to go to dinner. I did find these Go cards though, you can go to 25 different attractions in the city for one price. It was really nice, we were able to go to the John Hancock, Navy Pier and ride the Ferris Wheel and take a sightseeing boat tour, the Sears Tower, The Museum of Science and Industry, and take a trolley tour of they city. It was a lot of fun. I think my favorite part was when we were getting in line for the ferris wheel and Luke says to me, "I think I just got pooped on" I look at his head and there's nothing there, but he combs his fingers through is hair and something white is on his hand, I keep looking but I still can't find anything, finally his hair lands just right and sure enough, he got pooped on. Nothing big, but it was in his hair and on his jacket. I couldn't stop laughing, I cracked up the entire way to the washroom and for the rest of the day I would randomly start laughing, I don't think he thought it was as funny as I did though. :) Anyway here are some pictures, I'll add more later.

New Job

Well I started my new job as "Event Coordinator" at the Harvard Chamber of Commerce today. I have a title now, haha isn't that exciting. Today I had to sell ads for the community guide which give info about the town and a directory of businesses....like a phone book with more info about the town. I sold $1,080 worth of ads in the 3 hours I worked, not too bad I would have liked to do better, but there's always tomorrow.

Easter

So today's Easter and there's snow on the ground....Friday was the first day of Spring, you know the season when the birds chirp, the flowers start to bloom, and kids run around outside. Did I mentioned it snowed inches upon inches on Friday?! I'm on spring break right now and I could go build a snow man! I swear if I never see snow again I'll be okay with that. Hiding Easter eggs should be easy today, all you have to do is throw them outside and they'll sink in the snow. Is spring ever going to get here? Hope everyone has a good Easter snow or no snow.

NIU Ribbons

Well I sent in my money to the scholarship fund, I collected $56...not bad. My goal was $50 so I got more than I hoped which is good. On an even better note Luke comes home in 1 week! I can't wait. I'm longing one of those huge hugs you can only get when someone's been gone for a little while....or a long while in my case.

NIU

By now you've all heard about what happened at NIU on Valentine's day. I got this idea last night to make ribbons out of the school colors and sell them for $2 and make a donation. The school has started a scholarship fund to honor the students slain in the February 14th tragedy. Here's the website if you want to learn more http://www.niu.edu/tragedy/scholarships.shtml Needless to say here's a picture of my ribbon, I know they aren't the best, but you know it's going to a good cause.

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's day all. I'm hoping your's is going better than mine. Luke's 1000 miles away and was supposed to come home, but yay for his parents. On a happy note though, yesterday I was home for lunch getting ready to go back to work when my door bell rang. Mrs. Nolen was at my door...with a bouquet of flowers. I got a gorgeous bouquet of lilys with no card. Either I have a secret admirer or Luke didn't have them put a card in it....I'm going with the second option. Here's a picture of them with my incredibly messy kitchen table. :)

My First Post

Well it's my first post! I decided to start my own blog because one of the girls I work with has one and it's been so unbelievebly slow this week I thought it might be fun and Luke's taken off to Florida for a month so I have to keep myself busy somehow.
Yesterday my mom and I decided to try this work out video from Dancing with the Stars. I can't begin to describe how ridiculous we looked! There are 4 different dances the "teach" you. I missed the teaching part. They didn't slow down the dances or really teach you the steps, so basically mom and I flug our arms, legs, heads, you name it it ungracefully flew around the room. At one point in the cha cha you shimmy shake your shoulders/chest and when I did it, my butt wiggled at the same time. I turned to my mom and said is my ass supposed to move at the same time? Maybe you had to be there, but it was pretty funny.
