Costume Contest

Yesterday my puppy was in a costume contest. She was the cutest little bumble bee, and she WON!! I wont tell you how many dogs were in the contest, but she wasn't the only one. Her's her picture...I'm so proud! :)

The had a couple games, one for dogs and one for humans. They tried to get the dogs to bob for hot dogs instead of bobing for apples, but the hot dogs didn't float so they tried dog treats, which floated, but Candy wouldn't have anything to do with it, I had to push her towards the bucket. They also had a game to see who could draw the best picture of their dog in 60 seconds....lets just say mine started as a bear, then looked like a cat, and in the 60 seconds I wasn't even able to get legs on the thing. ;)

Portrait

Almost a year ago now some one I work with got a pencil portrait done of her two sons, and ever since then I've wanted to get one, first I though it would be nice to get portrait done of my mom's side of the family, for some reason the 34 of us never seem to get a group picture, but the rest of my family said no...stupid people. So I talked to my parents about getting one of just us and giving it to both sets of grandparents for Christmas, so thats what were doing....here's what it'll look like.
It started out as 3 different pictures and she put them together!

Karma

I got an e-mail at work today that I thought I'd share with everyone, sometimes we need to be reminded of the little things.
1. Take into account that great love and great achievements invlove great risk.
2. When you lose, don't lose the lesson.
3. Follow the three R's:
Respect for self,
Respect for others and
Responsibility for all your actions
4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
6. Don't let a little dispute injure a great relationship.
7. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate stephs to correct it.
8. Spend some time alone every day.
9. Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.
10. Remember that silence is somtimes the best answer.
11. Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.
12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don't bring up the past (I'm bad at this one :( )
14. Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.
15. Be gentle with the earth.
16. Once a year, go someplace you've never been before.
17. Remeber that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
19. Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.
